Qualifications

• Active Alabama registered nurse license or multistate license required
• Graduate degree in nursing or related health field required
• Academic and experiential qualifications appropriate to nursing content and level of instruction
• At least three (3) years of full-time professional nursing experience
• Ability to meet clinical-agency requirements and maintain certifications and clearances
• Postsecondary nursing teaching experience preferred
• Experience with ACEN accreditation, ABN program approval and compliance, or related processes preferred
• Current professional certification relevant to the assigned clinical specialty or teaching responsibilities preferred
• Must have effective written, oral, interpersonal, organizational, technology, and documentation skills
• Must collaborate with the Director of Nursing, faculty, students, clinical partners, and support services
• Must manage multiple deadlines and maintain complete, accurate documentation

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction and evaluation in assigned nursing courses in day, evening, hybrid, online, laboratory, simulation, and clinical formats at RSCC campuses and clinical sites.
• Teaches from current RSCC course directory, Plans of Instruction, curriculum plans, and approved policies; ensures alignment of objectives and outcomes.
• Uses evidence-based teaching strategies suitable for adult learners and nursing content.
• Gives students current syllabi and communicates course requirements, attendance, grading, clinical requirements, and support resources.
• Evaluates student performance and provides timely feedback and remediation.
• Maintains office hours and provides academic advising and referral to RSCC support services.
• Maintains complete records as required by RSCC, ACCS, ABN, ACEN, and clinical partners.
