Job summary

Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Eastern Kentucky is seeking a Nursing Instructor to deliver nursing education to Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing students. The position is a 10-month annual renewable faculty contract and requires effective teamwork with the Nursing department.

The role includes instructional design, updating syllabi, student assessment, and potential evening or weekend teaching at the Pikeville Campus, on-site at BSCTC.

Qualifications

• BSN in Nursing from an approved program.
• Current active, unencumbered RN license in Kentucky.
• Ability to obtain Kentucky RN license if needed.
• Experience in classroom and clinical teaching.
• Proficiency with instructional technologies.

Responsibilities

• Participates in instructional presentation and delivery; planning and designing instructional programs; instructional evaluation and assessment.
• Assists in the design and update of course syllabi, curriculum review, revision and development.
• Maintains records and reports on student learning.
• Incorporates latest instructional technologies in course delivery.
• Supports the mission and objectives of the College as directed by leadership.
• Supplemental teaching in clinical and skills laboratory each semester.
• Recruits students for the program, provides advising, assists in placement, and monitors performance.
• Maintains posted office hours and provides quality customer service to students, faculty and staff.
• Participates in faculty committees, internal & external service, professional development, and other activities; may teach evenings/weekends.
