Job summary

• LVN clinical: AA/AS degree + 6 years’ experience or BA/BS with 2 years’ experience.
• LVN didactic: RN with bachelor’s or 1 year teaching in a nursing college within past 5 years, or RN with associate’s + 1 year teaching in nursing college within past 5 years.
• RN clinical: BSN and 1 year direct patient care in the designated clinical area; CA RN license (unencumbered).
• RN didactic: MSN with 1 year direct patient care in the designated clinical area; CA RN license (unencumbered).
• One year teaching experience preferred
• Background check will be required
• Teaching certification or approved course

Responsibilities

• Teach didactic and clinical nursing courses.
• Serve as instructor for ADN RN and LVN programs.
• Cover Medical-Surgical, Maternity, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community/Public Health and Gerontology.

The Department of Nursing is seeking full time and part-time nursing instructors for its ADN RN and LVN Programs. These positions include teaching (didactic and clinical courses). We are seeking faculty in the following areas Medical-Surgical, Maternity, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community/Public Health and Gerontology.

Minimum requirements:

• LVN Clinical-an LVN with AA or AS degree + 6 years’ experience required or a BA or BS with 2 years’ experience required (any type of degree).
• LVN Didactic- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience for Registered Nurses with a bachelor’s degree or minimum of 1-year teaching experience in an approved college of nursing within the past 5 years or Minimum of 6 years nursing experience for Registered Nurses with an associate’s degree or; or minimum of 1-year teaching experience in an approved college of nursing within the past 5 years.
• RN Clinical-Bachelor of Science in Nursing with one with direct patient experience in the previous five (5) years and a minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience in the designated clinical area. Must have an unencumbered California registered nurse license.
• RN Didactic-Master of Science Degree in Nursing with direct patient experience in the previous five (5) years and a minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience in the designated clinical area. Must have an unencumbered California registered nurse license.

Additional requirements:

• One year teaching experience preferred

• A proven tract record of excellent teamwork, organization and leadership skills.
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
