Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Information Services, the NursingInformationist builds partnerships with faculty, departments, and the School of Nursing to optimize the use of information for research, education, and patient care. To this end, the informationist identifies information needs of students, faculty, and staff in the School of Nursing.

In response to these needs, the informationist 1) delivers in-depth reference, research and consultation services, 2) designs and provides instruction, 3)

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science (ALA-accredited) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated expertise with health sciences resources and evidence-based practice.
• Strong collaboration and communication with faculty, students, and healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency with library technologies and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Responds to mediated searches and in-depth reference requests across biomedical and social science databases.
• Delivers reference service via Information Desk and AskUs and supports staff as needed.
• Participates in systematic review services and collaborates on data management and manuscripts.
• Consults with students and faculty to develop research strategies and information management.
• Collaborates to develop information products, tools, and on-demand services.
