Job summary

Sedgwick County Health Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct resident care in a long-term care setting. Under supervision of licensed staff, you will assist with ADLs, monitor health, and document care to support a safe, compassionate environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and an active CPR/BLS certification. Lifting up to 100 pounds and weekend shifts may be required; differential pay applies for evenings, nights, and holidays.

$1.50 differential for evening shift & $2.00 for nights and holidays

Position Summary

Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential direct care to residents in a long-term care setting. This role supports activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors resident condition, and promotes a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment.

  • Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility
  • Transfer and reposition residents using proper techniques
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition
  • Assist with meals and document intake
  • Support toileting and continence care
  • Maintain resident safety, dignity, and comfort
  • Accurately document care and complete daily records

Experience Preferred
  • One year of long-term care experience preferred
Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity for patient care tasks

This position works in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, chemicals, and physically demanding conditions. Work may include long hours, weekends, and holidays.
