Job summary

Qualifications

• MSN from a regionally accredited institution.
• Unrestricted RN license in Mississippi or eligible to obtain before employment.
• Current criminal background check and fingerprint clearance per state law.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience with demonstrated competency.
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with basic internet, email, and word processing functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist curriculum development and instructional advancement for PN and ADN options.
• Assess student instructional needs and plan improvements.
• Teach courses as assigned based on need and expertise.
• Apply assessment and effective teaching methodologies to promote active learning.
• Integrate theory with active learning and clinical guidance.
• Maintain nursing field expertise through seminars and professional development.
• Participate in professional organizations as appropriate.
• Support college activities including career guidance, mentoring, and graduation events.
• Communicate and collaborate with allied health, adjunct, and clinical faculty across sites.
• Maintain records and perform programmatic reporting as required.
• Assist with planning and offering dual credit and non-credit continuing education.
• Contribute to core curriculum evaluations and program assessments.
• Serve on institutional committees and collaborate in the learning environment.
• Complete instructor training modules in the specified timeframe.
• Supervise students, preceptors, and adjunct faculty in off-campus facilities.
• Attend monthly faculty meetings and annual community meetings as guided.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Nursing Department Chair and AVP of Health Sciences.
