Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing is seeking a Core Nursing Faculty member to design and deliver the nursing curriculum, lead simulation experiences, and mentor students across didactic and clinical settings. You will supervise teaching in didactic and clinical sections, maintain program records, and contribute to faculty governance.

The role requires a graduate degree (nursing or related field) and a minimum of three years of RN experience, with teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree required; if the degree is not in nursing, must have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
• Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university is preferred.
• Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
• Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty is preferred.
• Maintains professional competence/expertise in teaching through activities such as nursing practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects and professional writing.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, teaches, evaluates, and revises the curriculum for the nursing education program.
• Leads simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab.
• Teaches and evaluates students in the classroom and at least 36 credits annually.
• Advises core nursing students and develops student success plans.
• Maintains records on student performance and completes clinical site evaluations.
• Participates in faculty meetings and contributes to program governance.
