Job summary

The Lingenfelter Center in Kingman, AZ is seeking a Nursing Extern to gain hands-on experience while supporting resident care under licensed supervision.

You will learn assessments, care planning, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a skilled nursing setting. This temporary externship helps prepare for nursing licensure in a compassionate, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state‑approved nursing education program.
• Must pass the NCLEX within 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain an Arizona State Board of Nursing license within 60 days of hire.
• Commitment to pursuing and obtaining nursing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and assist licensed nursing staff in providing resident care.
• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized resident care plans.
• Complete accurate nursing documentation and charting.
• Update resident assessments and care plans, including MDS process
• Provide thorough handoff reports to the oncoming nurse.
• Maintain safety, dignity, and quality of care for residents.
