Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing; if Master’s is not in nursing, then Bachelor’s in Nursing with a related Master’s (M.H.A., M.B.A., or M.S.).
• Ten years of healthcare experience.
• Five years of leadership experience in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Participates in hospital decision-making with leaders from the governing body, health system management, hospital leadership council, medical staff and clinical areas to develop strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans and policies.
• Leads nursing leadership in developing a nursing mission, vision, philosophy, strategic plan congruent with the hospital's mission and plan.
• Mentors and develops managers and staff to assume leadership roles through role modeling and shared leadership structures.
• Directs patient care team effectively as a team leader and change agent.
• Develops and implements effective communication channels to provide information to all staff and create a forum for concerns and ideas.
• Develops and continually enhances positive working relationships with physicians and other departments to problem solve.
