Job summary

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center in Pasadena, TX seeks a Chief Nursing Officer to define and execute the strategic vision for patient care across the system.

This executive role directs clinical operations, mentors senior leaders, drives safety and compliance, and improves workflows to achieve superior patient outcomes. A proven track record leading complex clinical teams and shaping change is required, along with RN licensure and a relevant advanced degree.

Qualifications

• RN license active in the state of employment or a compact license.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a related Master’s (MHA/MBA/MS).
• Ten years of healthcare experience and five years of nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

• Participates in hospital decision‑making with leaders to develop strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans and policies.
• Leads nursing leadership to develop a nursing mission, vision, philosophy, strategic plan aligned with the hospital's mission and plan.
• Mentors and develops managers and staff to assume leadership roles through role modelling and shared leadership.
• Directs patient care teams as a leader and change agent.
• Develops and maintains effective communication channels for staff input and concerns.
• Fosters collaboration with physicians and other departments to solve problems and improve care.
