Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Center for Nursing Excellence. The role provides programmatic and operational support for nursing excellence programs, driving accreditation readiness and ensuring a high-quality learner experience.

The position covers student placement, onboarding and orientation, retention initiatives, continuing education activities, and data management across departments with a focus on timely communication and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of program coordination or related healthcare administration experience.
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Onsite, full-time position with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate core operational workflows for Center for Nursing Excellence programs with emphasis on efficiency, standardization, and clear communication.
• Support nursing recruitment, onboarding, and retention through accurate systems, tracking, and timely stakeholder communication.
• Maintain records related to nursing certification, continuing education hours, and professional advancement programs.
• Support accreditation and designation readiness (e.g., Magnet) through data tracking, evidence organization, timelines, and communication support.
• Provide administrative coordination for nursing research, evidence-based practice, and clinical inquiry activities, including documentation and tracking.
• Manage departmental technology tools (databases, surveys, learning platforms, dashboards, tracking systems).
• Coordinate limited financial and resource tracking tied to professional development initiatives (budgets, purchasing, expenses).
• Prepare and coordinate reports and materials for nursing leaders and enterprise audiences.
• Other duties as assigned.
