Job summary

UNC Health Appalachian invites applications for an RN Educator position in the Learning Center. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; Master’s degree in Nursing Education is preferred.
  • Current RN license in the State of North Carolina.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required at hire.
  • BLS Instructor certification required within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical staff.
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs and clinical training content.
  • Partner with nursing leadership and quality teams to identify learning needs and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promote evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and role model to nursing and clinical staff.
  • Support a healthy, inclusive, and safe work environment rooted in respect, compassion, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do as an RN (Nurse) Educator

Coordinate and support onboarding and orientation programs for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical staff

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN required); Master’s degree in Nursing Education preferred

CurrentRegistered Nurse (RN)license in the State of North Carolina

Basic Life Support (BLS)from the American Heart Association required at hire

BLS Instructorcertification required within one (1) year of hire

Minimum ofthree (3) yearsof nursing experience

Strong clinical expertise, communication, and teaching skills

Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and disciplines

Commitment to patient safety, staff development, and organizational values

Physical & Work Environment

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting

Speaking, reading, and writing for extended periods

Occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens and clinical environments

May be subject to irregular hours, meetings, or educational sessions as needed
