Job summary

The University of Montevallo's Department of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for a nine-month, Open Rank, Instructor (Tenure or Non-tenure Track) in Nursing. Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, with emphasis on maternal-child health and nursing care of children, plus possible RN to BSN courses.

Summer teaching may be required and compensation provided.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in nursing required.
Doctoral degree in nursing preferred.
Documented excellence in teaching and undergraduate advising.
Experience with simulation and healthcare education.
Familiarity with AACN Essentials and CNE standards.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate prelicensure courses in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
Teach maternal child/reproductive health and/or nursing care of children; RN to BSN courses may be included.
Participate in academic advising; curriculum development and program assessment.
Establish an independent line of scholarly activity and publish in scholarly journals; engage in service to the program, department, college, university, and community.
