Job summary

Tuskegee University is seeking a faculty member in Obstetric Nursing to deliver high-quality classroom and clinical instruction with a focus on maternal and newborn health. The role prepares nursing students for safe, compassionate care across prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.

The candidate will teach courses, supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings, advise students, and ensure alignment with departmental objectives.

Qualifications

• Master of Science Degree in Nursing or a Master’s Degree in a clinical specialty is required.
• An earned Doctoral Degree is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of general nursing experience is required.
• Must hold a current, unencumbered Alabama Registered Nurse license.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction in obstetric/maternal nursing across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Develop and deliver course materials including syllabi, lectures, assignments, and examinations.
• Provide clinical instruction and supervision in obstetric and maternal-child health settings.
• Demonstrate evidence-based obstetric nursing practices and supervise student clinical performance.
• Assess student learning, administer assessments, and provide constructive feedback.
