Job summary
Covista is seeking a nursing faculty member in Indiana to shape the next generation of healthcare providers through classroom, online, and clinical teaching, with evening and weekend options. The role includes teaching, evaluating students, mentoring, committee work, and engagement in service and scholarship aligned with Covista's mission.
The successful candidate will hold a Master’s in nursing, Indiana licensure, and at least two years of clinical nursing experience, with proficiency in LMS,
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing required; PhD in a teaching field preferred.
- Current Indiana nursing licensure or eligibility to obtain.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing clinical experience.
- Strong communication, initiative, and prudent judgment.
- Experience with LMS, simulation, and online platforms; familiarity with AI.
- Ability to create engaging learning environments and resolve conflicts.
- Collaborates across faculty, extended teams and clinical partners.
- Emotional and social intelligence to support diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned nursing courses across classroom, online, clinical, lab and simulation.
- Input and implement course curriculum and teaching materials.
- Know your students, identify needs, and foster relationships to support learning success.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback/remediation as needed.
- Lead clinical learning or partner with faculty leading labs to connect theory to practice.
- Contribute to the university community through service, committees, and program evaluation.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to students and new faculty.
- Engage in scholarly activities related to teaching and nursing practice.
- Maintain subject matter and teaching skills through ongoing professional development.
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements for students.
