Job summary

The College of Nursing at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure earning instructor or lecturer position in the Department of Nursing Practice. The selected candidate will teach clinical and didactic courses across the lifespan.

The position will be on the UCF Daytona campus and begin in August 2027. Rank will be determined by credentials and experience.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution at time of application.
• Unencumbered RN license; Florida licensure expected by date of hire; multi-state endorsement expected by date of hire.
• At least 2 years inpatient clinical experience (within past 5 years) in pediatric, adult/geriatric, critical care, families (including labor and delivery, postpartum and newborn care), women’s health, or psychiatric and mental health.
• Undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience (within past 3 years) in pediatric, adult/geriatric, critical care, families, women’s health, or psychiatric and mental health.
• Active CPR/BLS certification by date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach direct clinical portion of courses (i.e., inpatient units) in pediatric, adult, families, psychiatric and mental health.
• Teach on-campus labs and simulation activities related to clinical courses; training and mentorship for simulation.
• Teach didactic courses in pediatric, adult/geriatric, families, women’s health, or psychiatric and mental health; as qualified.
• Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to promote student success.
• Support and promote the College of Nursing’s mission and governance; collaborate in curriculum development and governance.
• Advise, mentor, and role model professionalism for students; mentor earlier career faculty as appropriate to rank.
• Service and leadership on department, college, and university committees.
