Job summary

Atlantic Health System seeks a System Director of Nursing Education to join the system nursing leadership team and report to the System Chief Nursing Executive. This role chairs the System Nursing Executive Council, guiding education strategy and program outcomes across the health system.

Responsibilities include planning and evaluating staff development, competency programs, orientation, and continuing education aligned with quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership experience in high-performing organizations.

• Advocating and representing nursing at the senior administration level.
• Partnering with physicians to drive patient quality and clinical excellence.
• Coaching and mentoring aspiring nurse educators.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, directs and evaluates staff development activities for Nursing personnel.
• Develops and directs a competency assessment program for Nursing personnel.
• Plans educational programs based on needs assessments and performance improvement data.
• Coordinates standardized orientation programs for all Nursing personnel.
• Develops and implements special programs to meet organizational goals.
• Oversees e-learning and web-based clinical procedures systems.
• Ensures regulatory standards and mandatory education requirements are met.
• Coordinates educational offerings (workshops/conferences) for the Division of Nursing.
• Develops annual department budget and monitors expenditures.
• Identifies educational needs and opportunities in professional practice.
• Acts as liaison between Nursing and other disciplines for continuing education.
• Manages conference and tuition programs for Nursing.
• Collaborates with representatives on product evaluation and implementation.
• Oversees affiliated colleges and universities activities.
• Educates on the use of the electronic medical record in nursing duties.
