Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, NY seeks an Academic & Simulation Lab Professional to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate learning resources for students and faculty across academic, clinical, laboratory and simulated environments.

You will collaborate with college leadership to strengthen nursing education, oversee the simulation lab, ensure safety, and mentor faculty and students while advancing simulation-based learning and assessment strategies.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the President, Dean, and faculty to plan and administer a nursing education program.
• Oversees activities to encourage student retention and increase graduation rates.
• Develops strategies to optimize student learning based on program requirements.
• Identifies student learning needs and offers support strategies to achieve success.
• Analyzes assessment data to help learners reach academic potential.
• Promotes effective study and test-taking skills among learners.
• Advises and recommends resources to ensure student success.
• Facilitates learning through peer study supervision.
• Assists the Dean in orientation and mentoring for new faculty.
• Gives constructive feedback to faculty on teaching strategies.
• Participates in professional development opportunities.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching/nursing to inspire learners.
• Coordinates BLS education for students and faculty.
• Collaborates to develop and evaluate simulation activities across the curriculum.
• Oversees the Simulation Lab, technology and equipment for all programs.
• Ensures safe storage of hazardous materials including medications.
• Orients new students to lab equipment and policies.
• Maintains a safe lab environment and enforces safety procedures.
