Job summary

BMCHS seeks a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to lead education initiatives for nursing staff in Peri Operative Services (PACU & Rad Holding). The role partners with clinical leaders to identify learning needs, develop curricula, and evaluate outcomes that improve patient care.

The NPDS uses adult learning principles to foster a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a MA-registered nurse license, 5+ years of clinical nursing, a graduate degree (one in nursing),

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program and a Master’s degree (one in nursing).
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Massachusetts.
• BLS certification required; ACLS instructor certification desired.
• National certification in Professional Development strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Identify educational needs with stakeholders and set outcomes.
• Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities.
• Use adult learning concepts to tailor content to learners.
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to implement education.
• Evaluate learner performance and adjust plans to improve competence.
