Job summary

MedStar Health in Baltimore seeks an experienced Nursing Education Leader to guide professional development for associates in the Department of Nursing/Patient Care Services. You will lead a team of Nurse Educators, shape learning programs, and ensure alignment with accreditation and Magnet/Pathway toward Excellence goals.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, staff development, and collaboration with executive leadership and informatics to advance clinical education and patient care

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or Nursing Education from a nationally accredited nursing program required.
• RN license in MD or DC required; NPD/CNE certifications within 2 years preferred.
• CPR certification for healthcare providers within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Leads the planning, development, execution and evaluation of the nursing professional development and educational program.
• Ensures adherence to policies, standards and regulatory requirements; collaborates with nurse leaders on priorities.
• Plans orientation programs and supports transition to practice for new nurses.
• Develops and validates competency programs and documents participation and success.
• Oversees continuing education activities and supports certification where appropriate.
• Manages department budget and staff performance; provides coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.
