Job summary

The position is a ten-month term from Aug 1 through May 31, requiring attendance at faculty meetings, course preparation, and coordination with occupational needs. Relevant RN licensure and clinical experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline) preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Mississippi.
• Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience in nursing practice.
• Recent teaching experience in RN education preferred.
• Applicants with community college teaching experience preferred.
• Applicants must understand and commit to the comprehensive community college philosophy.
• Applicants must have excellent references from previous employers and/or professors.

Responsibilities

• Attend required faculty meetings and computer training sessions.
• Perform the duties and functions of an instructor as they pertain to the teaching of courses.
• Prepare course materials, organize classes, keep student records, maintain classrooms and equipment, and other duties related to the instructional process.
• Coordinate the teaching process with the needs of various occupations.
• Perform all related and implied duties as may be directed.
