Job summary

University of Vermont Medical Center in Middlebury, Vermont, seeks a Registered Nurse to develop the overall education plan and serve as Infection Preventionist for the Porter - Helen Porter Nursing Home. Primary duties include education program development and staff training, ensuring safety standards are met.

You will oversee infection prevention initiatives and collaborate with clinical teams to maintain high quality patient care and regulatory compliance across the facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.
• AD degree in nursing required. BS degree preferred.
• Completion of Infection Preventionist Certificate (can be completed upon hire).
• Effective communicator and team player.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience in skilled nursing or health care.
• Previous experience as an educator and/or infection control nurse.
• Previous management experience preferred with a demonstrated record of success.

Responsibilities

• Develop the overall education plan for facility staff education.
• Facilitate education of facility staff and ongoing professional development.
• Serve as the facility’s Infection Preventionist, overseeing and monitoring the infection prevention plan and initiatives.
