Job summary

Northwestern State University College of Nursing and School of Allied Health seeks a 12-month full-time faculty member for the Associate/Bachelor of Science in nursing programs available in Alexandria/Cenla or off-campus instructional site.

Anticipated start date is upon completion of the hiring and approval process. Academic rank and salary depend on qualifications and experience. Review of applications begins immediately and will remain open until filled.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• Doctorate degree preferred.
• Unencumbered RN license in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of nurse educator experience; more than 3 years preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Proficiency in curriculum development, instruction, student evaluation, and academic advising.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Must meet all university-defined standards for academic appointment.

Responsibilities

• Represent the university in a positive manner.
• Assist with maintaining records and files for the College of Nursing.
• Maintain confidentiality per federal laws and university policies.
• Assist with development, evaluation, and revision of policies and procedures.
• Attend College of Nursing/university functions and committee meetings as assigned.
• Maintain regular office hours and excellent attendance.
• Advise and counsel students during office hours and other settings.
• Participate in activities promoting the College of Nursing, including evenings, travel, and weekends.
• Be flexible, collaborative, and cooperative in all activities.
