Job summary

Northwestern State University College of Nursing and School of Allied Health seeks a Program Director for graduate nursing programs in Shreveport or Alexandria, Louisiana. The position begins immediately and will remain open until filled.

The successful candidate will serve as a key faculty leader, responsible for program oversight, curriculum development, and student advising. Responsibilities include curriculum preparation and content delivery to MSN and PMC students, teaching across programs

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate (ABD candidates considered). Graduate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience in graduate nursing education, including teaching and clinical practice.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity and eligibility to serve as a full member of the Graduate Faculty.
  • Knowledge of graduate nursing education regulations.
  • APRN licensure and national certification.
  • Ability to report directly to the Senior Director and the Dean of the College of Nursing and School of Allied Health.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in curriculum preparation and content delivery to MSN, PMC, and related graduate students.
  • Teach across programs as directed by the Senior Director.
  • Ensure compliance with university, state, SACSCOC, CCNE, NONPF, and other regulatory guidelines or policies.
  • Maintain office hours, recruit students to all College of Nursing programs, and participate in committee work and scholarly activities.
  • Advise and counsel students during required hours and as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining program accreditation and approval from accrediting agencies.
  • Build and maintain collegial relationships with peers, faculty, and community partners.
