Job summary

German Centre in West Roxbury, MA is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and support a compassionate, resident-centered culture in a welcoming senior living community.

The DON will supervise nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance with CMS and state rules, monitor outcomes, and collaborate with physicians, families, and other teams to develop individualized care plans that enhance resident dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered MA RN licensure.
• 3+ years nursing experience in long-term care/skilled nursing.
• 1+ year in clinical supervision or leadership role.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, infection control, and patient safety.
• Current CPR certifications, including BLS.
• Fluent in English, verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing operations to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care.
• Lead and supervise nursing staff, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, competency assessment, and development.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and quality measures (falls, infections, rehospitalizations, medication management).
• Ensure CMS/state readiness and regulatory compliance, address deficiencies and implement corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, rehabilitation, social services and other teams to develop individualized care plans.
