Job summary

Eastern Health Group in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing team across a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. The DON will supervise staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with policies and quality standards to deliver outstanding resident care.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license in the state, have 2+ years in a supervisory role, and can collaborate with the Administrator and Medical Director to maintain high care quality while guiding

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a nursing facility.
• Collaborate with the Administrator and Medical Director to ensure quality of care.
• Organize and direct operations of the Nursing Service Department per federal, state and local standards.
• Aptitude in problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Directing, overseeing and evaluating all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPN etc.).
• Guiding staffing procedures.
• Setting objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department.
• Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high quality standards.
• Control budgets and monitor expenditures.
