Legacy Healthcare in Mount Pleasant, IA, is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing department in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The DON will provide clinical direction, staff oversight, and ensure high-quality resident care.

The ideal candidate will be an RN with strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a hands-on approach to coach staff and drive improvements while partnering with the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in DON or senior nursing roles.
• Strong knowledge of skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute care regulations.
• Ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain nursing staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families, and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to balance clinical excellence with staff development and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all nursing department operations.
• Provide leadership to RNs, LPNs/LVNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel.
• Establish and maintain high standards of resident care and safety.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and drive quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure licensing and regulatory surveys readiness and accurate documentation.
