Job summary

Parkview Care and Rehabilitation Center in Nassau County, NY, is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing department and ensure high-quality resident care. The DON will provide strong clinical leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a collaborative, resident-focused environment.

The role requires RN licensure in NY, a nursing degree, and at least 2 years of leadership in long-term care, with responsibility for policies, budgeting, and QAPI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NY in good standing.
• RN degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• Strong knowledge of NYS DOH regulations, CMS standards, infection control, risk management, and QA/QI processes.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the nursing department to ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
• Recruit, train, develop, and retain qualified nursing staff in accordance with staffing requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies and procedures consistent with corporate standards and DOH guidelines.
• Oversee staff competencies, performance evaluations, orientation, and continuing education.
• Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation, social services, administration, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote positive resident outcomes.
• Address resident and family grievances while protecting resident rights and maintaining a safe, respectful environment.
• Monitor nursing department budgets, staffing resources, supplies, and overall operational efficiency.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards, CMS requirements, DOH regulations, and applicable long-term care guidelines.
