Parkview Care and Rehabilitation Center, part of Excelsior Care Group, seeks an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) in Nassau County, NY. The DON will lead the nursing department and ensure high-quality resident care while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role requires RN licensure in NY, 2+ years of leadership in long-term care, and strong DOH/CMS knowledge. Collaboration across disciplines and focus on QA/QI are essential.

Formación

• Active RN license in NY in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years nursing leadership in long-term care or skilled nursing.

Responsabilidades

• Lead nursing department to ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
• Recruit, train, develop, and retain nursing staff per staffing needs.
• Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies per DOH guidelines.
• Oversee staff competencies, evaluations, orientation, and continuing education.
• Collaborate with physicians, rehab, social services, admin to promote resident outcomes.
• Address resident/family grievances while protecting rights.
• Monitor budgets, staffing, supplies, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in QAPI initiatives and quality improvement.
• Ensure infection prevention and control standards and regulations are met.

About the Role

Parkview Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to building a positive, collaborative, and resident-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the nursing department to ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance.

• Recruit, train, develop, and retain qualified nursing staff in accordance with staffing requirements.

• Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies and procedures consistent with corporate standards and New York State Department of Health (DOH) guidelines.

• Oversee staff competencies, performance evaluations, orientation, and continuing education.

• Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation, social services, administration, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote positive resident outcomes.

• Address resident and family grievances while protecting resident rights and maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

• Monitor nursing department budgets, staffing resources, supplies, and overall operational efficiency.

• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards, CMS requirements, DOH regulations, and applicable long-term care guidelines.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York and in good standing.

• RN degree from an accredited nursing program.

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.

• Strong knowledge of New York State DOH regulations, CMS standards, infection control, risk management, and QA/QI processes.

• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop nursing staff.
