Job summary

A Long Term Skilled Nursing Facility located in Queens County, New York is seeking a talented Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee all nursing operations for a 100+ bed facility. The DON will create a collaborative and efficient workplace focused on quality standards and policy compliance, with strong managerial and administrative skills and problem-solving ability.

The DON leads planning, organizing and directing the Nursing Department, ensuring policies are enforced, and guiding staff.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current Registered Nurse license in the State of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing in Long Term Care with managerial experience.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Nursing Department in planning, organizing and directing nursing services.
• Identify needs, problems and progress of nursing services and make improvement recommendations.
• Enforce policies and provide guidance to nursing staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator.
• Work as weekend Supervisor as part of a Department head rotation.
• Conduct regular rounds to monitor the delivery of nursing care.
• Coordinate and manage administrative functions related to nursing services.
