Avantara Milbank is seeking a compassionate Director of Nursing to lead the Nursing Department, collaborating with Unit Managers and the Administrator to drive excellence in resident care. The role emphasizes a positive, inclusive facility culture and achievement of Nursing Department goals.

You will oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, apply critical thinking, and ensure a consistently high standard of care for residents at Avantara Milbank.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered State of South Dakota license to practice.
• Nursing experience; preferable in the long-term care setting.
• Leadership competencies including developed interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to inspire and operate effectively at all levels.
• Must reside in Milbank or surrounding areas, or be willing to relocate to the Milbank, South Dakota area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Nursing Department in collaboration with Unit Managers and Administrator.
• Drive the overall success of the facility by setting and attaining department goals.
• Inspire the clinical team through creative problem solving and effective oversight of all clinical operations.
• Ensure residents receive a high standard of care and foster a positive, inclusive facility culture.
