Job summary

BrightStar Care of Concord, Lexington & Woburn is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and develop the nursing team across our MA home health services. You will ensure regulatory compliance, quality patient care, and staff development in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires current RN licensure in Massachusetts, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex care plans, IV therapy, wound care, and G-tube services.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Massachusetts.
• Current CPR certification.
• 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least one year in home health, primary care, or healthcare facility.
• Previous nursing leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of clinical documentation, care planning, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with IV therapy, wound care, and G-tube care preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical operations and staff.
• Supervise, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, therapists, home health aides, and other clinical personnel.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop clinical team members.
• Establish clear expectations, promote accountability, and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Oversee clinical quality assurance, patient safety, and CQI initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and agency policies.
• Review clinical documentation, assessments, care plans, and patient records for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and implement corrective actions; support audits and accreditation.
• Ensure appropriate patient assessments, care plans, and quality care delivery.
• Collaborate with physicians and hospitals to support continuity of care.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure clinical staffing and patient coverage.
• Support admissions, start-of-care visits, and ongoing service delivery.
• Monitor performance indicators and contribute to growth and service quality.
