Job summary

Advanced Health Care is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead the nursing department and ensure high-quality, compassionate resident care. The role requires overseeing staff, policy development, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration with physicians and administrators.

The Director of Nursing will mentor staff, manage recruitment and budgets, and drive quality improvement initiatives to sustain clinical excellence in our facility.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state where work is performed.
• 5+ years of nursing experience with progressive leadership responsibilities in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge in assessment, care planning, medication management, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership and management skills to inspire and empower staff for clinical excellence and resident satisfaction.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing nursing and long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the nursing department for safe, effective and compassionate resident care.
• Oversee development and implementation of nursing policies and standards of practice in line with regulations and best practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and administrators to coordinate resident care.
• Monitor nursing services and outcomes, including assessments, care planning, and infection control for quality improvement.
• Provide supervision, mentorship, training, and performance feedback to staff.
• Oversee recruitment, hiring, orientation, and retention of nursing staff and staffing levels.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities and regulatory survey readiness.
• Act as liaison with residents and families to address concerns and ensure open communication.
• Manage nursing department budget, resources, and equipment for cost-effectiveness.
• Stay informed about trends and regulations to maintain clinical leadership.
