Job summary

You will lead staff, develop staffing plans, monitor budgets, and maintain records, while promoting patient rights and infection control.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Valid State RN licensure.
• Current CPR certification.
• Nursing specialty certification desired.
• 2–3 years of management or supervisory experience in long-term or acute care preferred.
• Proficient in personal computer use.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and manages the nursing department to ensure quality care.
• Assists in annual budgeting and monitors nursing services against budget.
• Schedules rounds to monitor quality and appropriateness of care.
• Maintains documentation of care and medications.
• Recruits, hires and trains staff; conducts performance appraisals.
• Disciplines staff per facility protocols and regulations.
• Develops staffing plans and nursing schedules.
• Ensures records are maintained and submitted accurately.
• Evaluates residents to determine appropriate level of care.
• Maintains communication with Medical Director on programs and care services.
• Promotes residents’ rights and infection control and oversees regulatory compliance.
• Applies process improvement to daily operations.
