Job summary

Concept Rehab & Engage Consulting seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing services at a Newark, OH skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. The role requires hands‑on clinical leadership, regulatory acumen, and a focus on resident‑centered care.

You will mentor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, develop staffing plans, and ensure high standards of care while guiding quality outcomes and staff development in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license in good standing.
• Experience leading a nursing team in skilled nursing or long‑term care setting.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and Ohio LTC requirements.
• Proven leadership, staff management, and clinical decision‑making.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving.
• Commitment to resident dignity, safety, and quality care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical operations of the nursing department to ensure safe, high‑quality, resident‑centered care.
• Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Develop staffing plans and monitor schedules to maintain appropriate coverage.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, CMS requirements, and Ohio DOH standards.
• Monitor clinical outcomes, quality measures, infection prevention, and resident safety.
• Oversee resident assessments, care plans, and accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in QAPI initiatives and quality improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with Administrator, Medical Director, and department heads to improve care delivery.
• Promote staff accountability, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
• Prepare for regulatory surveys and assist with corrective action plans when needed.
