Asheboro Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center, located in Asheboro, NC, is under new management and seeks a Director of Nursing to lead the nursing department in a long-term care setting. The DON will direct staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive staffing aligned with resident needs.

The ideal candidate has DON experience, a nursing degree, and strong leadership skills. A supportive management team and comprehensive benefits are offered, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• DON experience a must.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Nursing or related field preferred.
• 3 years RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and supervises the nursing staff.
• Ensures the nursing department complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develops, implements and updates department policies and procedures.
• Staffing for resident needs and regulatory requirements.
• Participates in federal, state and local agency surveys.
• Address deficiencies noted by agencies during inspections.
• Operates the Nursing Department within budgetary guidelines.
• Completes annual performance reviews and provides coaching to staff.
• Provides counseling and disciplinary action as needed.
• Trains and educates staff members.
• Maintains infection control and safety practices at all times.
• Reports hazardous conditions and supply issues promptly.
• Maintains resident comfort, privacy and dignity.
• Responds to call lights promptly in care areas.
• Assists with admissions, readmissions, transfers.
• Communicates effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attends department meetings and in-services.
