Job summary

University of St. Thomas – Downtown Houston, TX seeks Adjunct Clinical Instructors for the ABSN program in the Downtown Houston area. The role centers on clinical education of nursing students and supporting their learning in assigned clinical settings.

Instructors are responsible for facilitating learning, providing guidance on professionalism and research, and evaluating student practice. RN licensure in Texas or a compact state is required, with shifts possible to cover 12 hours.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing is required.
• Minimum of two years of successful clinical nursing practice.
• Current unencumbered RN license in Texas or other compact state.
• Teaching experience is not required; preferred two years.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective student learning in the assigned clinical setting.
• Provide guidance for students in professionalism, practice, and research.
• Select and organize learning activities to meet course objectives.
• Ensure effective evaluations of student practice.
• Promote evidence-based practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment with timely feedback to supervisory personnel.
• Collaborate with faculty and healthcare partner staff.
• Attend orientation, trainings and faculty meetings.
