Job summary

Fairfield University is seeking a Career Development Specialist in the Egan School of Nursing & Health Studies. The role focuses on 1:1 coaching, resume optimization, and workshop delivery to support nursing and public health students.

You will collaborate with university career centers, arrange hospital externships and nursing fairs, and build partnerships with healthcare systems across TX and beyond. A Bachelor's is required; Master's preferred; 3–5 years of student-focused career development

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred in counseling or related field.
3–5 years progressive experience in career development or related field with student focus.
Knowledge of Nursing, Public Health, health care industries a plus; Handshake familiarity is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Teach Sophomore Success 1:1 appointments (resume, cover letter, job search, interviewing skills, mock interviews).
Review and edit resumes and cover letters; develop and present workshops.
Coordinate invitations and registrations for CT Nursing Fair and CT CRNA Fair.
Communicate with Directors and Associate Directors on fairs progress and timelines.
Identify healthcare systems in TX to invite to Austin CRNA & ASDN Fairs and manage outreach.
Support Austin, TX Egan needs and collaborate with Talent Acquisition on hiring needs/date.
Curate employment and externship opportunities and alert students via Handshake emails.
Manage SNA Alumni-Student Nursing Brunch and Mock Interview Days; organize events and sign-ups.
