Job summary

Duke Health's Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Nursing Care Assistant I to join the Neuro Stepdown unit. The NA supports RN/LPN, provides direct patient care, maintains clinical standards, and participates in unit activities.

This role focuses on basic care, patient comfort, documentation in the electronic health record, and adherence to infection control and safety policies. Shifts are 7:00am-7:30pm with 3-12 hour shifts per week, and relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of routine and special patient treatments.
• Understanding of hospital sanitation and safety procedures.
• Ability to document patient information in the EHR.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for procedures and assist as required.
• Record patient data for medical records and inform RN/LPN.
• Assist with personal care tasks including feeding, bathing, and mobility.
• Take vital signs and monitor patient condition.
• Support RN/LPN in treatments and patient care activities.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transportation.
