Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Flushing, NY is seeking a Part-Time Evening Nursing Attendant for the Med Surg Float Pool. You will support the care team by assisting patients at the bedside, taking vitals, delivering meals, and helping with safe transport under RN supervision.

Candidates should have Nurse’s Aide experience or approved CNA certification, BLS from the AHA, and a HS Diploma/GED. The role is on-site with an evening schedule (3pm–11pm) and about 18 hours weekly, with orientation

Qualifications

• BLS from the American Heart Association.

Provide compassionate patient focused care and perform select duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure, monitor and record temperatures, pulses, respirations and blood pressures. Ensure the delivery of meals and safe transport. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

This is a Part Time Evening position (3pm - 11pm; 18.12 hrs/wk; 5 shifts bi-weekly) at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens location.

Required Criteria

• Previous Nurse’s Aide experience or equivalent in a hospital setting; or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aide training program, or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum
• BLS from AHA
• HS Diploma/GED
• Must be able to complete mandatory 2 week orientation Monday - Friday from 8AM - 4PM upon hire.
