Job summary

Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completing one (1) year of service in their current position, with exceptions: associates who have received a written warning are not eligible for transfer or promotion until six (6) months after issuance; those suspended are not eligible for transfer or promotion until one (1) year after suspension. Part-time associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time positions within their department if it does not unreasonably reduce operational efficiency. The probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees and four (4) months for part-time employees working more than 3/5 of a week.

The Nursing Attendant provides direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing, ambulating, and eliminating. They also obtain and document vital signs and specimens as required.

The Nursing Attendant is part of a team committed to delivering high-quality care and services by maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment; assisting with dietary care; facilitating communication (e.g., answering phones); transporting patients; and assisting visitors. They are responsible for activities that promote patient-centered care within the unit.

Education, Training & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.

Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.

Graduate of a State Certified Program or at least 1-year clinical experience as a nursing student or foreign graduate nurse.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
