Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide safe, patient-centered care under supervision. You will work with the nursing team on the assigned unit, upholding service excellence and patient comfort.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, BLS, and CPI de-escalation training within six months. Healthcare vocational training is preferred, with pre-employment assessments as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Pre-employment assessment may be required by the facility.
• Healthcare vocational program is preferred.
• Fundamentals of nursing coursework preferred.
• De-escalation training (CPI) within six months of employment.
• BLS certification or orientation completion required.
• Experience in acute care setting preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides safe, competent patient-centered care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. The certified nursing assistant provides care under the direction of the registered nurse or physician. Participates as an active member of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit/department. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Qualifications

• De‑escalation training (obtained CPI within six months of employment) in required specialty.
