Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services in Tupelo, MS invites applications for a Part Time Day shift Nursing Assistant in the Pain Consultants Center. This role supports patient care under supervision and assists the care team.

You will take vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, document care interactions, transport supplies, and help patients sign in and navigate the Cancer Center. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED; Mississippi CNA certification is highly desirable;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or higher.
• Mississippi CNA certification desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and service orientation.
• Ability to interact with patients across all ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other medical provider
• Take patients vital signs, assist with daily activities, administer medication, attend to patient needs
• Assess the transportation needs of the patient (wheelchair, lifting assistance, etc.)
• Assists patient with sign-in process
• Directs ambulatory patients/family members to appropriate location within Cancer Center
• Greets patient/family members in a courteous and helpful manner
• Effectively communicates with staff members
• Observe patients’ condition and reports any changes in condition to the Registered Nurse/medical provider for further assessment
• Documents patient interaction as needed
• Maintain continuing educations requirements
• Assist with transporting supplies and restocking
• Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
• Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal procedures/guidelines/regulations
