Job summary

Grand Lake Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join our team. The role requires strong communication and teamwork as you support patients with basic care and comfort needs.

The position involves 12-hour casual shifts, floating to different units as needed, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and satisfaction. Candidates should be prepared for physical tasks and weekend rotation, and have a High School Diploma or equivalent plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing assistant certification or state testing certificate.
• Experience or training in patient care is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Float to other work areas as needed (2nd, 3rd, 6th floors and ED).
• Provide basic patient care and comfort measures.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
• Maintain good patient satisfaction by professionalism and teamwork.

Hours of Job

Casual employment working 12-hour shifts as needed based on departmental needs.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

Nursing Assistant with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Must also possess solid clinical skills and be capable of performing a variety of basic patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient.

Candidates must also collaborate and interact positively with the interdisciplinary team in order to provide quality patient care and achieve a high level of patient satisfaction.

Must also be willing to float to other work areas as needed; to include 2nd, 3rd, and 6th floors as well as to the Emergency Department.

Candidate must also be able to be on feet for long periods of time and possess ability to meet physical effort conditions within job description.

STNA preferred.

Requirements

Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.

Education/Certifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Must have one of the following:

Completion of state testing certificate program

Nursing assistant certification

Successful completion of at least one quarter
or semester of clinical work in a health-related program

Experience

Previous nursing assistant experience preferred.
