Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a part-time nurse assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, hygiene, and nutrition during night shifts.

Qualified candidates will have geriatric aide certification and be listed as Active or eligible on the Iowa Nurse Aide registry; enrollment in an ADN/BSN program or completion of related nursing education is also acceptable.

Position Qualifications

Education

Completion of geriatric aid certification and State of Iowa Nurse Aide registry listing as “Active” or eligible.

OR Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.

Experience

Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

Special Skills and Competencies

Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs. Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
