Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage is seeking a bedside Nursing Assistant under direct supervision to support the RN, maintain a safe and clean environment, and communicate clearly with patients and families. You will help with shift duties and ensure the patient-focused care plan is carried out.

The role requires Medical Terminology coursework, hospital terminology testing, BLS certification, and at least six months of experience with mental health or substance use disorders.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Terminology course or equivalent.
• Successful completion of hospital Medical Terminology test within 90 days of hire.
• National Provider BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Six months working with individuals who have mental health and/or substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assist bedside RN to maintain a safe, hazard-free, clean environment for patients, families and providers.

Under direct supervision this position is accountable to the bedside RN to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family and providers in the department. Responsible for the completion of the duties delegated to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the patient and the RN. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

Required Qualifications

• + Coursework/Training: Completion of Medical Terminology course or,
• + Successful completion of hospital Medical terminology test within 90 days of hire
• + National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• + Coursework/Training: Completed training as a Certified Nursing Assistant
