Job summary

Select Medical Rehabilitation Hospital at Lutheran in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Nursing Assistant for PRN/Per Diem night shifts. You will support inpatient rehabilitation patients with daily care, vital signs, mobility, and meals while documenting care and observations.

Night differential applies; strong orientation and growth opportunities are available. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, CNA or related experience, and BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Certification as a nursing assistant or related field is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care such as bathing and hygiene.
• Deliver meals and document oral intake; feed when needed.
• Turn and position immobile patients and assist in mobility programs.
• Transport patients to designated areas within the facility.

Schedule: PRN/Per Diem, 12-hour Night ShiftsCompensation: $19.00 per hour , plus shift differentials for nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing, oral hygiene, shaving and hair care
• Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves and document oral intake
• Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participate in mobility program
• Transport patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
