Job summary

UCI Health, part of the University of California, Irvine, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff by measuring vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean, safe patient environment.

The role requires CNA/LVN certification or current nursing program enrollment, English proficiency, and BLS. Weekend and holiday availability is expected as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must read, write and speak English effectively.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates effective communication in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in acute care.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Approved workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies.
• Operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks.
• Assist with other related duties as assigned.
