This position works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs and assists with activities of daily living and certain treatments for patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse, according to policies, procedures, and guidelines. The position requires travel among MyMichigan Health subsidiaries.
Support the mission, goals, policies, and standards of nursing, the medical center, and the unit. Provide age-specific care, perform emergency procedures, ensure safety, and deliver excellent customer service. All other duties as assigned.
Credential: PCT: MMH PCT/CNA/EMT/LPN Certification. Equivalent experience includes holding an internal MyMichigan Health Patient Care Technician certification, current State of Michigan CNA registry, EMT licensure, LPN licensure, or completion of a semester of nursing clinicals. Effective 11/22/2019, Medical Assistant credentials are also accepted.
Knowledge of medical terminology, reading, writing, math, computer skills, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to handle stressful situations, wear PPE, move freely within the facility, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
