Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the OrthNeuro Oncology unit. The role provides direct patient care, hygiene assistance, vital sign monitoring, and safe transport, with day shifts and 3x12 schedules.

You will support the care team by preparing rooms, documenting care in Cerner, and maintaining a clean, safe patient environment while upholding infection control and patient privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• First clinical rotation as Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Completion of 75-hour state approved Nurse Assistant course or 6 months Nurse Assistant experience required.
• Will consider high school students 16 years or older who have completed the above requirements.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients with hygiene and activities of daily living to support comfort and safety.
• Provide transportation, monitor vital signs, and help with treatment readiness.
• Prepare treatment spaces and maintain cleanliness to ensure a safe environment.
• Document data accurately in Cerner or worksheets and report changes promptly.
• Assist with room setup, equipment prep, and stocking of clinical care areas.
• Respond to call lights promptly and communicate patient needs to staff.
• Support front desk coverage and help with intake and scheduling as needed.
• Adhere to infection control practices and maintain patient privacy and dignity.
